The Annie Keating Band @ Hot Box

The Annie Keating Band has travelled over the pond and is setting stages alight with their blend of razor-sharp rockabilly, sweet country, swampy blues and twang-infused folk storytelling.

Brooklyn-based bandleader Annie kindly took the time to speak with me about her influences, her inspirations, the current tour, and so much more. And an extremely cool story featuring Neil Young. Feel free to watch my interview with Annie by clicking on the image below.

The 2024 tour marks the twenty-fifth anniversary since her first album release. To celebrate this milestone, Keating and co. have two vinyl recordings by the band in their merch bag. The LPs are available only at live shows.

Keating is building the reputation her talent deserves.

The Daily Telegraph

With 11 studio albums under her belt, she is thrilled to realise a lifelong dream of offering vinyl albums to fans directly at gigs.

‘Whispering’ Bob Harris approves The Annie Keating Band

Broadcasting legend ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris gave Annie her break when he championed her LP Belmont (2008). Furthermore, Bob describes the band as ‘a must see’.

Final thoughts

Americana lovers can test his claim this Thursday when they play the Hot Box in Chelmsford ( with James White & The Wildfire as support.) The Annie Keating Band, comprising Keating on acoustic guitar and vocal, Joe Coombs on electric/slide guitars, Scott Warman on bass, and Jamie Dawson on drums, returns to God’s Own County to play Brightlingsea Music Festival on 3 August.

As Annie says in our interview: “I have never played with a band like this before. The energy is so hot. I cannot say enough good stuff about those guys.”
